The Department of Chemistry was created on consequent upon the decision taken by the Academic Council vide Item No. B-5 in its 474th (emergent) meeting held on 12.12.2017 and the provision laid down under Clause-1 of Chapter-XIX of the Statutes. The Department of Chemistry was bifurcated from the erstwhile department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The Department is well known for its excellence in teaching and research. The faculty members of the department are engaged in state of the art research with a special focus on agriculture. The Department has a vibrant and rich tradition to intense academic and basic research programmes. Right from its inception, the Department has dedicated and hard-working faculty members. The research activities of the Department continuously strive to embrace insights into development of green organic reactions methodologies, target-driven synthesis of natural and un-natural products, nano chemistry, agriculture waste management,environmental remediation, phytochemistry, traversing through interfacial areas of chemical, biological and materials significance. Ever since, the Department improvises regularly the pursuit surrounding the theme. With this input the department is marching forward in newer areas of research and teaching.

It is my pleasure to extend my warmest welcome on behalf of my colleagues, to all prospective students, researchers, adult learners, alumni, colleagues and friends, to the official website of the Department of Chemistry at the CCSHAU, Hisar. Our department offers a rich variety of opportunities and resources and we are committed to pursue excellence in chemical education and research. Our postgraduate program provides opportunity to students in a wide array of chemistry disciplines including analytical, environmental, inorganic, materials, organic and physical chemistry. We offer students the freedom to personalize their courses and research projects in an interdisciplinary manner.

We are committed to provide top quality education and nurture the next generation of scholars and leaders in chemical sciences and beyond. We are well-equipped with splendid modern research laboratories, along with the state-of-the-art facilities, and awe-inspiring infrastructures. Our diverse faculty, which adds vitality to our department are actively exploring many emerging areas in the chemical sciences related to agriculture, and involved in world-class research funded with ICAR and other funding agencies. The faculty have published profuse scientific publications in journals of national and international repute.
